John Robb linked to a story on boston.com regarding the curing of diabetes in mice. The method involved taking cells from the spleen and somehow those cells migrated to the pancreas and regenerated the necessary portions of the organ for the proper production of insulin. Human trials potentially next. Because so many people live with diabetes it is easy to forget just how damaging it can be; This may be one of the most under rated diseases around, given its number of victims. Hopefully things will progress quickly.
