Personal Blog of Tom McDonald

A year after my daughter was born I began to realize that I didn't have a good handle on the details of her first months. I'm sure there's a natural protection built in to my brain to make me forget some of the long nights and fear-filled events of her early days but as I began to look forward to my second child's arrival I decided to memorialize some of the simple happenings in daily life so I could recall them later. And who knows, in 20 years my kids may find this little gem of an archive to get some insights as to why I've acted like a raving maniac for so long.

I'm currently the CEO of VPOP Technologies, a small web hosting and development shop. I'm partnered with my brother Joe and his wife and have 4 other wonderful people to work with on a daily basis. VPOP has authored a few decent sized applications including the first Online Studio Store for Warner Bros., an early and revolutionary Registrar for Tucows, Inc. called OpenSRS and more recently Blogware, also for Tucows and the system that powers this blog. We have too many smaller applications under our belt to list here. Besides, you wouldn't be interested.

I live in Thousand Oaks, Ca., born and raised in Southern California from Santa Monica to West L.A. to Agoura Hills and Redondo Beach before settling in Thousand Oaks. I have great neighbors and a wonderful family and that is all!
