Today’s Bug Hunt — UPDATED

In this scenario, Bug == Lobster. I didn’t go out today because Kerri was working so I was in charge of kids. And I’m not certain that I would have been invited. Neighbor Matt went lobster hunting this morning and came back with just one legal sized “bug”, he had to toss the others back. He also snatched up some huge scallop, bringing me a half-shell for Abigail. With all of the hungry tummies in this area it is doubtful that I’ll get a bite of the treasure but it reminds me how much I miss the sea — I need to get out on the ocean again soon.

I got to handle the lobster and while Abby had the chance, she [wisely] chose not to participate. I can’t say for sure how big he was but that little guy weighed more than my cat (God rest her soul). His colors were absolutely beautiful. I thoroughly enjoy looking closely at “nature” (big animals, little guys, insects, flowers, blah) and for some reason, I also enjoy eating “nature”. I’ll probably grab a fork and steal a hint of Matt’s catch, just so I can put the taste in the same mental folder as my memory of the view. That is all.

UPDATE: Matt brought over some samples of both the lobster and the scallop. Yu-hu-hu-hu-hummmm-eeee! Thanks Matt!
