Neighborhood Goodness
Yesterday was one of those days that I used to dream about before I was married and owned a home. I always wanted to have a place with my own kids and tons of neighborhood kids running around and that’s just what I had yesterday.
We had four neighborhood families over with their kids as well as a couple of random kids from up the street. We were tossing the football, jumping in the back of the truck and tackling each other on the grass. It was simple but an absolutely beautiful sight. Kerri made dinner for most of the kids and the adults proceeded to hang out by the front yard, have a few beers and talk trash. Like I said, very simple but just the sort of thing I love.
These events occur quite regularly, almost to the point where I take them for granted but I happened to sit back for a moment this morning and ponder and realized how grateful I am to live here.
Note to self: Try and convince 7 year old Zac and his parents to sign a contract now that would make me his manager when he’s older. That kid has an unbelievable arm and even crazier general agility. I’ll make millions!
