I Know I Smell But Kerri Must Smell Too
It might be more appropriate to say that I’m a smelly, stinky boy but I thought I’d give the title of this post something a little less jarring in description.
I like to play around with my dog (Sunshine) sometimes by waiting until he falls asleep and then sneaking away. I think after 3-5 minutes he notices that my “scent” has weakened and wakes up. Then he searches the house looking for me. It’s quite a little game actually. And this leads to my notion that Kerri smells…
I suppose I’m lucky that our kids generally like to sleep in but it seems that every time Kerri gets up early and leaves the house Ben decides to wake up 5 minutes later. It appears to be the exact same effect as when I sneak away from Sunshine. Ben must have a keen sense of smell and when Kerri’s, ummm, “presence” is no longer detected he wakes up looking for her. I think she left the house at 6:15am and Ben was crabbing at 6:20.
Before I end up in the doghouse I should indicate that I could solve my Ben problem by cutting some roses and putting them in our room when Kerri leaves so Ben still has the same smell he’s used to. And if Kerri wants to fake out Sunshine she can sack up a bunch of cowpies and put them in my work chair — He’d sleep soundly through the night in The Garage.
