We’re Selling Benjamin To Weather.com

Ben woke up just after midnight making a dreaded but familiar sound which filtered into our room and had us up for most of the night (more Kerri than me of course). Croup seems to be here once again. I heard just a hint of it yesterday morning with a few random coughs but by midnight his airway had sufficiently closed to produce the unmistakable, the patented, the horrifying sound of a croup cough.

My wife/mad scientist has noted the last few times Ben ended up with croup we were coming off very dry weather and found a wet, foggy morning the next day. Sure enough, when we woke up this morning the crazy dry winds we had been seeing all week were replaced with calm wet weather. Kerri called it last night but I brushed it off because I had checked the weather and fog was not forecast. It seems that Kerri and Ben’s respiratory system together can outdo millions of dollars in high tech weather forecasting systems.

Unfortunately, if Kerri continues to be correct Ben will end up with a fever and other cold sysmptoms and ultimately end up with an ear infection. The next couple of days will determine the weight with which I treat anything Kerri says in the future. I’ll either being saying, “You’re right sweetheart” for the rest of my life or, “Whatever babe, like *you* know what you’re talking about”.
