I was born and raised in Southern California but my fleeting college football fanhood has always tended towards the Bruins of UCLA. I have to admit that through half of last year and all of this one I couldn’t keep my eyes off USC, if only because of their excellence (in spite of my Bearish tendancies). It doesn’t take away from my UCLA eagerness but they’re not in it now so I’m gonna pick a dog for this race… sorta.

I *want* USC to win and continue their unreal streak. I *love* watching the marvel that is Reggie Bush. But I *think* Texas is going to fight and claw their way to the top. It’s not because they’re better but I think they are fighting for more and they equal USC in their fight for a purpose. It’s an uneasy feeling, fighting for who you want to win and who you just proclaimed publicly who you *think* will win. But I’m cool with it all. I’ll take the ribbing (happily) if USC blows the doors off the Texas group.

In the end, one might say that I have nothing to gain by this post. But if Texas does win and you figured on USC, then I’m smarter than you and clearly better looking.
