My New Pet Rat
A rat seems to have found The Garage quite cozy at night and has decided to come visit daily, after the lights go out. I’ve been trying to kill the little sucker (as has Sunshine) for a couple of weeks now but he continues to avoid my poison placements and the neck-breaking mechanism of my trap. He gets the food off the trap easily enough and sometimes trips the spring but so far he has escaped unscathed.
I now consider him my filthy little pet with whom I share nightly games. I sense a little jealousy from Sunshine but I’m sure he’ll get over it, just as he did when my kids arrived. Besides, I’ve had other filthy playmates and things have always ended badly for them, leaving Sunny and I more time for frolicking and ball chasing. To tell you the truth, I think Sunny would prefer that I played the same games with my kids but, no such luck my four legged friend.
