One Child Down, One Child Drone

Oh boy, where do I begin? Yesterday I got a call from Ben’s school letting me know that he had a fever so I went and picked him up. I checked him at home and it was 103 degrees (yipes!). It sure seems like a reaction to his MMR vaccination last week, given the time line and the symptoms but when we took him to the doctor today, having a crazy rash all over his trunk (one of the symptoms of an MMR vaccination reaction), the doctor said it was likely something else. Whatever… I’m convinced otherwise. I’m also not convinced that 2 + 2 = 4, to give you some perspective.:)

Last night was a busy one with Ben waking up and then a few surprise wake-ups from Abigail, the last one happening at 4:30am which resulted in a mild fever and throwing up. Great! Kerri was supposed to leave to Vegas at 6:30 this morning but she put it off until nearly noon to help me out.

Right now Ben is down for a nap and Abby is droned out in front of the brain drain — I don’t want either one of them using too much energy but neither feel like doing something else constructive and I no longer have the energy to force the issue. Perhaps when the temperature drops a bit I’ll get a burst and we’ll break out the paint.

Kerri will be back Sunday night and I’m already counting the hours. Not that I don’t want to enjoy a Dad’s weekend but when the kids are sick it is so nice to have another opinion when deciding how to treat what’s in front of you. I plan on regularly crabbing about the affair during the weekend, as time permits. You may want to avoid this journal for a few days.
