Should I Start a MedBlog?

I’m one of seven kids so my Mom will likely read the rest of this and laugh (and laugh and laugh). It seems that one of my two children are always on some form of medication; We may have anitbiotics going or some form of fever reducing agent.

With Kerri and I both working and the kids in daycare it can be tough to keep track of who got what and when. And how much of whatever it is they’re taking that they got. We tend to write down the time and dose of what we’ve given the children but we’re not always at home to do so. Enter blogging/moblogging. It seems a good idea to simply blog the dosage and time for each event so we can check things out in near real time. And we’ll have an historical view of just how much crap we’re pumping into the little terrors.

For example, Abigail just got 5ml of Motrin at 20mg/ml. If her fever persists we know that we can’t give her more for at least 6 hours but we can alternate with some Tylenol in less than 4 hours. If one of us is sleeping or gone, the other can check Ye Olde Blog and see what remedies are available to them and when. I think the idea is great but I’m afraid I don’t have enough devices handy to make sure that things are always recorded. I think in the next 3 – 5 years that will change and I’ll be able to have a running record of everything my child ever receives, aside from a count of french fries (which I don’t think I’ll ever want recorded).
