Google Going Public

Yes, I know, most of you know this already. But for posterity’s sake… Google announced its plans to file an IPO and intends on using an “auction style” offering. They continue to make the right decisions in my view. Perhaps they’re not always right but they make more good decisions than the public ones we see out of their competitors’ camps. It looks like they generated $105million in net profit on $962million in revenue in fiscal 2003. That’s a nice margin and hopefully not a result of their private nature (in other words, I hope their ‘public’ nature doesn’t squash this type of margin). As always, they’re keeping us on our toes.
