For various reasons I find myself in Windows land frequently. I got a new XP box a few months ago and did not install Cygwin until just yesterday. I forgot how much it helps me in simple operations… diff some files or grep for terms within files, etc., to say nothing of having emacs installed and so many other useful things. So, “Thanks!” to the cygwin folks. And for that matter, thanks to the X-Win32 folks for making it easy for me to connect to my local FreeBSD box so quickly and easily with full desktop emulation. Oh yeah, thanks to the FreeBSD guys again too – Rockin OS!
