Blogware Signup Also Hindered Because Of Spam
As we test out the Blogware system I note that I receive confirmation requests from various spam blocking services when attempting to send a confirmation message to someone signing up. It works like this: You signup for an account on Blogware.com and you are sent a confirmation message to the email address specified. If you are using a challenge/response system for SPAM management (I don’t blame you) , your mail system will send my system a message requesting confirmation since I have not sent you mail before. So you will never get the confirmation request from us and therefore will never be able to activate your account. Sure, you’ll figure it out eventually. But this is another example of how SPAM has forced drastic measures and some of the consequences we suffer to avoid the multi-thousand “once in a lifetime” offers daily.
When I’m finished with Blogware, I’m really going to find a global solution to this scourge. Unless something else cool comes along.
